Hello to my beloved family, dear friends, and those who are reading this that I have not met yet.
Thank you for your support, prayers and donations. This is the first of my many posts that will come. If you don’t know me very well, here is a little bit about the world of Sylvia.
I have grown up in a Christian home with loving family members. My house strives to create healthy relationships with Christ at its center. We give grace when we make mistakes and most importantly we love each other no matter the circumstance. I have 4 siblings; one brother and three sisters. We grew up in a Ponderosa forest in eastern Washington on a 14 acre plot where we would run around in the woods all day and learn things through homeschooling. As we got older we saw a chance to move into the city to join the private Christian school where our dad teaches science. From middle school through high school I attended the school learning how to think as a Christian kid, building godly relationships, and playing sports to glorify God. Even though sometimes this school challenged everything in me due to its rigor, I have loved attending there and am beyond grateful.
But now it is time for me to shift to a new chapter in my life. I am a part of the squad “Outreach Route” launching September 2022 for Costa Rica, South Africa, Eswatini (also known as Swaziland), and Romania. Throughout this 9 month mission trip, we will be reaching out to children, teaching English, playing sports, and building relationships, creating quality time and space to make them feel safe and loved and asking for open doors for the gospel. We will be doing street evangelism, bringing the gospel to broken and hurting people on the street who may have never even heard the name of Jesus. We will also be doing manual labor as needed. I am actually honestly not 100% sure as to everything that we will be doing as the trip is still far away, but I will keep you posted.
I appreciate you all so much and can not wait to have you see what the future holds.
